Seribu Island Fishermen Given 770 Bubu Rajungan

Hundreds of catching equipment, bubu (a kind of fishing rod and a basket) rajungan (small crab) were given by Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-Department to fishermen. Crabs and lobsters haul of the fishermen would be more increased with the equipment.

The equipment are given after we hold socialization of the rules about kinds of small crabs and lobsters that can be caught

"There are 770 bubu(s) distributed to 74 representatives of fishermen," said Head of Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-Department, Abdul Cholik, Thursday (11/5).

According to him, the fishermen were socialized before the equipment are given. Because for maintain sea ecosystem, there are some kinds of small crabs and lobster that cannot be caught.

"The equipment are given after we held socialization of the rules about kinds of small crabs and lobsters that can be caught, As it is for maintaining sea ecosystem," he uttered.

He hopes, with the equipment and knowledge given, economic of fishermen would get better.  Even if eventually joint business groups (KUB) of fishermen is formed. "It is for simplifying guidance and giving aid later," he stated.
